This weekend will offer a great introduction to Team East, offering open training and skills development for optimist sailors new to racing (also known as regatta racing). They just need to be able to sail round a triangle in a force 4 and be capable of self-rescue.
Cost: £45 a day, please enter separately for the Saturday and / or Sunday
Sailors will need their own boat and warm winter sailing clothes including either a thick wetsuit, wetsuit boots and gloves or a drysuit.
To take part, sailors must be IOCA members. If you are not currently a member there are two options:
Option 1: IOCA 2025 membership - expires on 31 December 2025
Option 2: IOCA Event membership for £3 per event entered
If there is the demand, it's our intention to also run open training on:
7th and 8th December at Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, Burnham
18th and 19th January at Royal Harwich Yacht Club, near Ipswich
1st and 2nd March at Blackwater Sailing Club, near Maldon
29th and 30th March at Dabchicks Sailing Club, Mersea Island
