IOCA NW Winter Training is aimed at a wide range of sailors. As a minimum sailors taking part must have their own boat and be able to comfortably sail a triangular course in a range of conditions and be willing to race.
IOCA coaches will lead each session, providing skills development and race training in small groups. This is a fantastic opportunity to build on the skills you have learnt and gain a head start for next season.
Sailors will be assessed and placed into groups dependent on experience, ability as well as other factors to ensure that the groups provide the best training for all sailors. More advanced sailors will be taught the methods, skills and tactics necessary to take them to the next level when competing against their peers in open events.
For each session, sailors will need to be rigged and Ready for 10am, with planned finish by 4pm
Sailors must bring a packed lunch and lots of warm sailing kit, layers, hats and gloves and a racing watch. Hot drinks will be available in the club for parents.
Parents will be expected to fill several volunteer spots to help the training day run smoothly.
Cost: £30 each individual session
Helms need to be an IOCA member for this event.
